with duck tape? when I was growing up, it was silver and purely for utilitarian uses like holding together my dad's suitcase or fixing something random around the house. and, I thought it was duct tape (you know, to tape ducts), but its actually duck tape. who knew?

Are you posting to the exact dimensions? For example: my new blog as 940px wide dimension, so I resize all my photos to that exact size? I don't post the full size photos and let wordpress (or in your case blogger) resize for you - that may be the issue. Also, try using the free MCP FB action on your photos. I was having the issue with Communal Global site and once I started saving the photos that way, the colors came out much better.
